A Fun & Educational Cruise
This 1.5-hour trip occurs during high tides when The Explorer can navigate the smaller channels from the MarshWalk down to Huntington Beach State Park and out to the rock jetties before returning through the main channel.
Listen to stories of Murrells Inlet, early plantation owners and Civil War history, as well as informative stories about the rich heritage and resources that make Murrells Inlet the paradise that many enjoy.
Topics include the original plantation families, the fishing boats and captains that started our sea-going tradition, the families that settled in the area, the origin of the restaurants and our seafood culture, and the natural history of the resources and creeks that are the reason Murrells Inlet is loved by so many.
About the Vessel & Crew:
The Explorer, is a United States Coast Guard Certified & Inspected vessel that is 54′ in length and is covered.
The operator is a USCG licensed Master Captain.
There is a “boat bathroom” onboard but it is additionally recommended to use the onsite facilities prior to boarding.
A canteen onboard has a limited variety of snack, sodas, water, beer and wine available while underway.
The boat is not easily handicapped available. The boarding ramps from the main property down to the dock can be steep, tide depending. The are 3 steps up to the boat deck from the dock.
Please arrive 30 minutes prior to scheduled departure to allow time for parking, check in, bathroom, and boarding.
